Escape Room Strategy And Tips

Escape Rooms are going to be different everywhere you go. From game elements, locks, and an assortment of puzzles to solve there will always be something that will make you “think outside the box”.  Here are some tips and tricks that you may find helpful to escape!

Take the first few minutes of your game time to explore your surroundings and see what you can find. Some things may be hidden in places you would not expect. More often than not though, everything you need to complete the game will be within arms reach and not hidden in floors, ceilings, or walls. If you think that something should open but it will not it probably means you need to solve a certain puzzle or find an object to get it to activate. Never try to force anything open.

Read everything carefully. Like the Sphinx and his riddles, a lot of texts you may find in an escape room are deceiving and will force you to think about your answers carefully. Read over what you find and get input from the whole team. The train of thoughts from others may help to find the true answer, for everyone thinks in a different way.

Share with your team what you find and encourage them to do the same. Cooperation and communication are key in an escape room and you must all work together to solve the mysteries and find answers.

Ask for clues! Don’t be afraid to ask the Game Master for a hint. More often than not they will point you in the right direction and save you and your team time. Escape Rooms are meant to be challenging and there is no harm in getting stuck on a puzzle and asking for a helping hand.

Don’t play intoxicated. You will need all of your brain power to play an Escape Room! Comprehension, strategy, and fast thinking are required so you do not want anything holding you back from playing at your full potential ;)
